Our Lady of Sorrows, my neighborhood church

New Mexico is in many ways still a Spanish colony. Families descended from the original Spanish explorers still live on their original land, granted by the Spanish monarchy. They farm using acequias, communal irrigation ditches governed by their own rules. These lands nestle against the ancient lands of the Pueblo people, including the oldest inhabited buildings in the Americas.
